I have been giving German lessons to children and young teenagers one-one-one online for quite some time. Since children and young teenagers learn a new language in a very different way than adults, the teaching format reflects their learning ability at different ages.

German Courses for Children Online
Pre-Basic German for Younger Children Online
This course is intended to introduce younger children to German in a playful manner. Through many descriptive illustration, children learn the language by looking at them and then, by repeating and practicing what they have just learned. Your child should have some basic communication skills in English, and your willingness to help your child with the navigation on online platforms, like chat apps and collaboration in the cloud. Basic German Course for Older Children Online
I have built my own interactive course for teaching basic German to older children, which can be easily deployed one-on-one online. This course makes more use of playful language demonstrations rather than just dry explanations.
If your child knows how to use a computer, is familiar with chat apps and some office suite applications such as word editing of word documents, and has some basic communication skills in English, this course should be ideal for introducing your child to basic German for the first time.
All the teaching material is included in the price. It will be provided online and can be saved to your hard drive. Your child will have total access to everything we do in class and will be able to review each class whenever he or she wants.

More Advanced German Courses for Children Online
If your child already knows some basic German, I also offer more advanced German courses for children and young teenagers. Every course can be easily tailored to your child's ability and learning needs. The type of course depends on your child's level so I would have to run a few tests first before I can decide which course to choose.
The more advanced courses have the same teaching format like my basic course for children, but come with some adjustments to match the requirements for each language level at a specific age.
Usually, the language requirements for children are loosely based on the language proficiency of German children at certain ages as they grow up so that children from other countries have a better chance to integrate into the school environment and to participate in social activities with German children at similar ages

Get involved to keep your child motivated! Why don't you try to learn German together with your child? For children, it is much easier to stay focused if they have someone to study and practice with. Don't worry! It won't cost you more if you decide to join your child in class. Make it fun for your child. Play dumb and let your child be your teacher in the learning process. Pretend you don't understand something and have your child explain it to you. Learning through teaching can be very effective.
