The Platforms & Useful Links for Learners

About the Platforms in Class

1. The Platforms

We use Teams, Google Chat or WhatsApp for speaking, and Google Drive to share text, audio and video files, and to collaborate in real time during a lesson.

2. Google Drive Explained

Google Drive is a free cloud-based storage service that lets you share your content privately. In Google Drive, you find an office suite called Google Docs. I use its features to prepare the lessons and exercises for my students. The documents created can then be shared by linking them to a Gmail address. They are only accessible in Google Drive to someone with a link, and can be opened and edited by multiple users simultaneously in real time, or at any time by you. All additional material I have in Google Drive, like PDF books or media files, can be shared as well.
In Google Drive, you have total access to everything. You will be able to review each lesson whenever you want, and you can save all of your files to your hard drive.

3. Google Account

To gain access to all the Google services mentioned above, you first need to set up a free account at Google. You can then connect to them via Gmail.
